John-Paul C. Sauer
John is an experienced civil trial attorney focusing his practice on defending claims made against hospitals, medical providers, and employers. He has experience defending malpractice actions brought against physicians, hospitals, and other professionals. He also has extensive experience counseling employers, advising on best employment practices, and defending employers. He has defended individuals and organizations in DOL, EEOC, CCRD, and DOJ investigations, administrative hearings, Peer Review, arbitrations, jury trials, and on appeal.
John started his career with the Labor and Employment Division of the Litigation Section of the Denver City Attorney’s Office where he litigated and advised leaders in technology, law enforcement, corrections, the District Attorney’s Office, Denver International Airport, and the Mayor’s Office on some of the highest profile litigation matters against the City.
John obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado College and his law degree from the University of Colorado. While in law school, John was the President of the Colorado Innocence Project. He had several internships with law firms in Boulder and Denver and participated in moot court and mock trial. After graduation, John was awarded a fellowship with the Litigation Section of Denver City Attorney’s Office and then became a City Attorney.
John is licensed to practice in all Colorado state courts, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Arapahoe County Bar Association, and is a Resource Provider to SHRM.
When not practicing law or spending time with his family, John enjoys hiking 14ers and 46ers, golfing, and cycling.
