Michael S. Drew


Mike was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and is a third generation attorney. Mike’s Father had the distinction of being the longest tenured practitioner in the state of Ohio. Mike was admitted to the California bar and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit in 1992. In 1993, he was admitted to practice in Colorado and in the U.S. District Court, District of Colorado. Mr. Drew attended the University of Colorado (B.A., 1985) and University of Denver (J.D., 1991).
Between college and law school, Mike was an adjuster and senior adjuster for two professional liability insurers in Northern California, an experience that led to his pursuit of a law degree. While in law school, Mike was the proud recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in 1989. During law school Mike practiced in the student law office under the Student Practice Act and undertook an extensive internship with the Arapahoe County Public Defender’s office, gaining valuable trial, hearings and litigation experience. Mike has significant jury trial and arbitration experience, including catastrophic injury cases. Mike specializes in medical negligence, construction defect, complex general casualty, and other litigation matters. Early in his career Mike attended the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) Deposition Skills Program and Trial Advocacy Skills Program. He was a contributor to the book “Trial Attorneys’ Guide to Bad Faith and Insurance Coverage”.
Mike is the proud father of three amazing and unique young men from whom he constantly gains perspective, joy and tuition bills. He is an avid cyclist and has combined that passion with his support of The Children’s Hospital of Colorado by raising money for the last 14 years at the Courage Classic. Mike feels strongly about contributing to his community and has been involved with the United Way of Denver, Big Brothers program and other charitable endeavors.
