Michael S. Drew
Mike was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 24, 1960 and is a third generation attorney. Mike’s grandfather practiced law and his father recently entered his 65th year of practice in Cincinnati at age 87. Mike was admitted to the California bar and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit in 1992. In 1993, he was admitted to practice in Colorado and in the U.S. District Court, District of Colorado. Mr. Drew attended the University of Colorado (B.A., 1985) and University of Denver (J.D., 1991).
Between college and law school, Mike was an adjuster and senior adjuster for two professional liability insurance carriers in Northern California. This experience has been quite valuable in his practice. Mike, while in law school, was the proud recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in 1989. During law school Mike undertook an extensive internship with the Arapahoe County Public Defender’s office defending both juvenile and adult criminal cases in court. Mike has significant first and second chair trial experience in arbitration and jury trial settings. Mike specializes in construction defect, complex general casualty, professional liability and other litigation matters. To support and hone his skills, he has attended the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) Deposition Skills Program and Trial Advocacy Skills Program. He was a contributor to the book “Trial Attorneys’ Guide to Bad Faith and Insurance Coverage”.
Mike is the proud father of three strapping young men. He is an avid athlete, has been competing in triathlons for 20 years, and was a 17 year member of “Collateral Attack”, the Denver Bar Association’s perenial champion touch football team, coached by the Honorable Alfred Harrell. He is committed to his community and has been involved with the United Way of Denver, Big Brothers program and other charitable endeavors. He is a member of the Denver (Health Care Law Section), Colorado and American Bar Associations.
