On April 26,2014, Brad Shefrin received the Third-Annual Oak Tree Lifetime Achievement award from The Shiloh House, a non-profit agency that provides a variety of counselling and educational services to at-risk children in Colorado. Brad has served as legal counsel to The Shiloh House for over twenty-years, and has watched them grow from a handful of employees, to having multiple facilities and over 200 employees.
Nixon Shefrin Hensen Ogburn congratulates our 2014 Super Lawyers! They are: Peter Pryor, David Karr, Scott Nixon, Brad Shefrin and Valerie Garcia. Super Lawyers are those outstanding attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. All seven of Nixon Shefrin’s Super Lawyers are Shareholders in the firm. The candidates go through a rigorous selection process that includes a statewide nomination, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff at Super Lawyers, peer review of candidates by practice area and a good standing and disciplinary check.
Nixon Shefrin is also thrilled to recognize our own Rising Star, Bolor Nyamaa! Rising Stars are those outstanding attorneys who are 40 years of age or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. Candidates are nominated by other lawyers who have personally observed them in action, whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through firsthand courtroom observation. The nomination process is followed by the attorney-led research team at Super Lawyers reviewing the credentials of potential candidates and assigning them points based on a set of defined evaluation criteria.
Congratulations to Nixon Shefrin’s outstanding Super Lawyers and Rising Star!
Nixon Shefrin is proud to count attorneys both past and present as holding membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates, ABOTA. The preservation of the civil jury trial as guaranteed by the Seventh Amendment is the primary purpose of ABOTA. Membership is bestowed upon attorneys “who display skill, civility and integrity, to help younger attorneys achieve a higher level of trial advocacy and to educate the public about the vital importance of the Seventh Amendment.” Membership in ABOTA is an honor, and Nixon Shefrin is proud of Peter Pryor, Irving (Irnie) Johnson, David Karr and Scott Nixon for their commitment to the work and ideals of this wonderful organization.
