Nixon Shefrin Hensen Ogburn is grieving the loss of founding partner, colleague and dear friend, Bob Carney. Bob died suddenly and unexpectedly in San Francisco on Saturday, February 6, 2016, where he was getting ready to attend Super Bowl 50 with his daughter, Cindy. Bob joined forces with Peter Pryor in 1968 and was one of the founding members of Pryor, Carney and Johnson, P.C., the predecessor to the formation of PJCKN in 1995. Bob will be remembered fondly by all who knew him as an attorney of great skill and ability, and a man of extraordinary good humor and compassion. His passion was travel, and with his wife Kaye and two daughters Bob traveled to every continent on the globe during his 73 years and was always busy planning his next adventure – Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands were on their itinerary for the spring. In addition to traveling, Bob played tennis regularly, and consistent with his good nature he was active as a long-time member of Optimist International. Loved by his family, friends, colleagues and clients, and respected by his opponents, Bob will be missed by everyone who had the honor and pleasure of knowing him.
